Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our dynamic surgical services team. In this vital in-office role, you will act as the primary point of contact for patients undergoing surgical procedures from our four surgeons. You will be responsible for managing their surgical schedules, ensuring seamless coordination of appointments and pre-operative requirements, and providing exceptional patient care throughout their surgical journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the surgical schedules for four surgeons, coordinating appointments across hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics.

  • Collect patient demographics and insurance information.

  • Guide patients through pre-operative preparations, including scheduling necessary tests, consultations, and providing clear instructions.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers regarding appointment scheduling and any necessary changes.

  • Manage appointment requests, cancellations, and rescheduling requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations when required.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EHR system.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HIPAA regulations and data privacy standards.

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and colleagues.

  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.

  • Experience in a surgical setting is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology is a plus.

  • 2+ years of experience in medical scheduling or a related role.

  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on patient satisfaction.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
